Hey everyone,
I purchased a 1993 Corvette about a month ago and this is going to be one of many questions I'll be posting on here.
I have a bit of a headlight issue. My left light goes up and down no problem but keeps running and makes a ticking noise for a few seconds. I've diagnosed that to be a simple rebuild kit for the motor that I found for $5 online.
However my passenger side light goes up and down about three times before I have to remove the little plastic motor cap (that turns freely because the metal **** beneath it seems stuck) and manually turn the **** with pliers to sort of break it loose again for the motor to work. The guy I bought it from said it was "new" and just needed to be adjusted.
So is there a way to "adjust" the motor?
And if not, will a rebuild kit fix my passenger side too?
Thanks for any feedback!
Yes your left motor needs new bushings, I had the same problem with my 91 with the clicking noise. A new set of bushings fixed the problem. as for your right side I don't know of an actual adjustment on the motor. If it were me I would put new bushings in the right side motor ( if the left needs it the right can't be far behind) and make sure it goes back like the left one with all the shims in the right place. Top tip , take them both out at the same time and put them side by side on your bench so you can use one as a guide. Hope this helps.
