This weekend I plan on changing the oil and plugs/wires for the first time on my new 93 Vette. I see under the hood that I should use "Mobile 1 Full-Synthetic," which I'll do.
But what about plugs and wires?
Is it really worth it to buy the $100 set over the $45 set?
Since it is a corvette I would think to buy the more expensive ones but if it's not necessary I wont.

Thanks for any feedback!

Lots of guys say to ac delco plugs, I use e3's, and they work great. As far as wires Ive ran Taylors on all my vehicles for years. Possibly the best wire out there. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ta...Fa9cQgodFDQA6A

Its always wise to stick with the same oil. If you start switching around, different chemicals react, and reek havoc on seals, and gaskets.

As far as your post earlier about this, (please dont double post, BTW) the timing is controlled by the computer, so dont mess with it. Just do cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. h

You have an LT1 with the optispark distributor. I would stick with stock diameter wires because it is going to be hard to snake the wires down to the opti on the drivers side. If you get thicker performance wires, you 're going to have a hard time and they won't fit the wire holders.

As for the distributor, if it is currently working, best to keep it. However, you have the early style opti which has three small vent holes on the bottom. They don't do much for moisture and ozone removal. Later style opti were changed to have a positive vent system to help with longevity. But you can buy an aftermarket vented cap and rotor for it from MSD that has a vent system built in to it like the later styles.

As for plugs NGK platinums are very good.

Thanks for the advice but I haven't posted about this before. Maybe someone else did and I didn't see it.
And I'll keep in mind the diameter of the wires when buying them now. Probably avoided an annoying issue of "snaking wires".

For street use, the Delco Plugs and Wires work just fine. Make sure to gap the plugs correctly.
