I'm getting a code 15, which I think is the temperature sensor. I have an 86 shop manual, and a 90 vette. Since the fan starts running the second I turn on the car, I'm guessing that's the problem. Unfortunately, I can't seem to remember where the sensor is!
It has died at the stop light twice, and I have to floor the gas to get it started again. Should I be replacing the sensor, or is there likely another problem going on here?
Re: Code 15, temperature sensor? Help!!! (ittlfly)
Found it, replaced it, repaired it! Good to have a 24 hour autozone ten blocks away.
It's located in an "idiot engineer sitting in his office" location. It's behind the waterpump, 1/4 inch below the water pump hose, 1 inch from where it would be easy to get at. Just tight enough that you either have to remove empty the radiator to get it out, or waste 1 hour fidgeting with tools that don't fit. I fidgeted and cussed for an hour.
