Check the vacuum lines going to the CC module. The lines are above the battery and could very easily have holes or cracks in them. No vacuum, no cruise.

I am looking at FSM now and it has a nice diagram of the vacuum hoses and how they are routed.

Reason: problem resolved; vacuum line is dry rotted quite a bit and has broken off on one end just above the battery.

ditto. A bad vacuum line had my cruise sidelined for a while.
