I have a 96 Convertible with a non-Bose radio. It is scary but it has a factory cassette deck with AM/FM.
I am swapping it out with a nice new Kenwood with all the bells and whistles.
I bought what the youngin at Best Buy said was one of 2 harnesses they carry that would work to install my unit. He was wrong and I have since ordered what I hope is the correct harness to install my new radio.
What my question is this, there is NO antenna cable nor a plug for an antenna cable on the back of the factory radio. Will the AM adapter harness that is on it's way have an antenna cable for the radio?
I have installed tons of radios and never seen one the either did not have an antenna cable or had it integrated into the factory harness.
The factory radio is to pieces, The head unit and the CDM (receiver) the head unit is what you see on the dash, cassette, radio buttons, ext. The CDM is where the antenna plugs into and on the 96 i believe it is located in the compartment behind the drivers seat.

Thank you guys. I jsut double checked the harness I have ordered from Best Buy and I have the correct one coming. Well at least it is the same model that is posted above!
Thanks for letting me know about the parts being behind the passenger seat. Knowing me I would have the entire interior sitting on the driveway while I found everything!
