Haven't seen that acronym in a very long while but I believe you want what is more commonly referred to as the IAC motors. The original part # for them is 17078832. AIS I believe is the MOPAR acronym for Automatic Idle Speed - same function!

I thought it was Air Intake Sensor. Obviously Im wrong. My car hiccups on acceleration until its up to normal operating temp. Thought there was 2 sensors on the throttle bodies. Guess they arent called ais sensors.

You might do better initially bringing the "error" or the problem to the CF and just ask for help. Maybe someone even "Tom" might catch it and try to give you a hand. He mentioned 12 years - should be enough to maybe get you on your way!

No Air intake sensors on the CFI. The #1 issue that causes the symptom that you're describing (as I understand it) is weak fuel delivery. When the engine is cold, it needs extra fuel, and when you're accelerating or "tipping in" the throttle, that is a high demand event as well. If you're fuel system is weak -and they frequently are on this particular model, that would do it.
Rather than throwing a pump at it, first buy or borrow (or rent for a place like Autozone) a fuel pressure gauge. Install "T'ed" into the rubber fuel line between the frame of the car, and the engine. Watch the gauge while you drive. Pressure should remain constant at all times. If it drops at all, and especially in conjunction with the symptom, you've found your problem. Spec is 9-13 PSI and they generally run best closer to the 13, than the 9.

Wow. Thanks. Thats probably it then. Seems to run rich also. Powerful smell of gas in the exhaust. Maybe a tuneup is due. I was told there was only 40k miles on the rebuild but it sputters when its cold. Even died at a stoplight once. But once its warm it runs like a top. Wintertime is coming and I'll hafta force it into hibernation but right now my Saab needs things that take priority and funds are in short supply.
