Default Low pressure switch

I have a bad low pressure switch on my 91 corvette! My question is can the switch be replace with pressure on the system? I find it impossible to screw on switch without the o-ring getting pushed out by pressure.

yes. o-ring should be in switch and switch should screw into a 'schrader' valve (similar to tire valve).

Lube the o-ring with a little dish washing soap.

maybe if i lube the o-ring with oil and then place in switch it would keep it from being pushed out!
