I have a "91"auto coupe with the OE gatorbacks the fronts have about 70 % and the backs have about 50 % tread life left. What tire pressure should I run??

Re: TIRE PSI?????? (Mile High "91")
I run mine at 35psi all around for driving and autocross.
I'm going to experiment with different pressures at autocross when I stop improving my times :yesnod:
No drag racing here, but I'd pay attention to Mr Mojo for his suggestions.
35 front, 33 rear. Is it just me or do tires not last more than 20k on these cars?
I think you may have a genetic defect commonly associated with Corvette owners. I believe the term is "Rightfoottooheavyidus". The only known cure to date is a Toyota Corolla. :D
35psi all around running 275/40 17's on the ZR1 17"x9½" 5 stars. I think I'm gonna try going down to 25psi in the rear for drag racing...see if that maybe helps. BTW my tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE730's.
I run 36 all the way around. I have Bridgestone RE730s on the front and Goodyear Eagle F1 Steels on the back. The F1s used to be all around, but due to punctures, etc, I opted for a lower cost tire this time. Might need to replace the backs in the fall. Will go again with the RE730s. They perform really well, even though I don't like the sidewall looks as much, and they were FAR less expensive.
Are all your tires wearing evenly? What about the middle of the tire vs. the edges of the tire? That might tell you something about the pressure you are running. If there is more meat in the center, jack the pressure up a bit.

Yeah it's weird. I'm the second owner, but haven't been too hard on this set of tires at all. They were almost new when I got them, and I"ve put 10k on them. The wear is pretty even, but looks like maybe the edges have a bit more meat than the center. My pressues are usually around 35psi on all 4's. Maybe I need a 4-wheel alignment?

More wear in the center is usually an indication of either overinflation or bad shocks. My shocks were bad on my 87 and wore the centers of my wheels really badly.
I keep mine at 32 all the way around. When at the track I go down to 24 in the back. Noticable difference in 60 foot time with lower tire pressure in rear wheels.
