I recently purchased a 1984 Corvette and , The previous owner swap the crossfire engine out to a Edelbrock 350-382 small black and I also have Edelbrock 8962 Carburetor ,He also added custom exhaust system and headers. I cant seem to find an OBD1 software or a tuning software.Any help or suggestion would be much appreciate .,
I will attach a few pictures of the car and a video
The software doesn't care what kind of induction system you have. The key is to connect to the ECM. You need to match your software to the ECM. That requires the correct data template for the firmware in the ECM. The ECM spits out a series of numbers. You need the correct data template to interpret what those numbers mean.
Any suggestion on how I would do that. Im currently using an elm327 OBD2 adapter along with an OBD1 to OBD2 converter. but Regardless of the software that I use it wont connect to the ECM. PLease help me
If you have a carb the computer is not controlling anything. To the best of my knowledge the 84 ECM has never been hacked. If you want efi you'll have to restore all original parts, or update to TPI, or LT1, and or newer.
In a nice way, I don't really understand what you're asking.
Oh OK, I do work on cars but I am new to this car modding world. This is my first performance car, The previous owner swapped out the crossfire engine to an edelbrock small block , So I thought maybe I would be able to scan the car and also tune it if I wanted to using a OBD software

You can install a wide band O2 sensor and monitor that. Very good way to tune any car.
Regardless of the software that I use it wont connect to the ECM.
Have you actually seen a ECM under the dash ?
It is typical with a carb swap to put it in the rubbish bin
If it was still in place and you could connect to it ; as the man said it would not tell you anything useful
because as it no longer has any function as far as engine operation goes
Does your SERVICE ENGINE SOON light come on when you turn on the ignition without starting the engine? The SES light is controlled by the ECM, so if that doesn't work then the ECM is probably not there or is not functional (or the bulb for the SES light has been removed).
I recall winALDL will datalog 1984 ECM. Most of us are correcting fueling by modifying the fuel tables in .bin. However with a carb nothing can be done.
The ECU for the 1984 has not been hacked and no def file exists so you would need to swap to a diff computer if you wish to change .bin settings in future with a EFI induction system.
If you are using a carburetor and a vacuum advance distributor, everything is controlled mechanically. Your "tuning" is controlled by adjusting the carburetor.
With an AFR gauge and wideband o2 sensor, it will help you adjust the carburetor perfectly.
If you want to tune the ecm that is it unless somehow you can find someone that sells the chips still and then someone else with the ability to burn them...
