Anyone know about reprogramming a CCM - Central Control Module for a 1996 LT4
Short story is a friend of mine converted his LT4 to an A4 using factory components. Ed Wright did the programming using the LT1/A4 as a starting point. All works well except the dash now flashes "SYS" and gives an error code 81 that indicates "invalid engine configuration"
So I am wondering if the CCM can be reprogrammed for an LT1 configuration? How would I go about doing that? And would the tachometer still work correctly since the LT4 has a 8000 RPM tach?
Thanks.
-make sure the EGR is disabled in the program (because LT4's don't have EGR)
-I assume Ed changed the fuel tables, VE table, timing tables, rev limiter, etc to work better with an LT4
-Did you disconnect anything else? (air pump, rear O2 sensors, etc?)
-The tach should work fine because the ECM will still send the appropriate signal.
I'd call Ed and tell him the problem you're having. He's usually pretty good with customer support since he did the original program for you.
