Default Anyone else just do the front coilovers?

I did mine almost 2 years ago. Fronts only and left the rear transverse spring in place.
Trying to find out if anyone else has noticed a "float" sort of speak along with a little vibration that can be felt thru the steering at higher speeds. >70 mph
I'm down to thinking its either that combo or maybe the spring I'm using isn't holding the wheels down. I think it was a 350 lb spring, worse case is 300lb however.

Before we even go down the road of loose front end an so forth
All new ball joints, tierod ends
Rack rebuild by turn one
New pump and all new lines
Front end alignment done 4 times
Each wheel and tire and been checked for straightness

My front spoiler did get cracked right in the center last year, don't know if that would have any effect or not.

I have only done the front coil overs (so far) and have the Z51 rear spring. I used 350 lb (I think - I'll have to check) coils on converted Bilstein shocks. It definitely felt "different" after the conversion. "Floaty" is pretty close but definitely "smoother" than the BMA lowered spring that was in there.
I recently lowered the rear some more (2 turns) and it seems even more stable.
I do have a bit of a vibration but I just figured it was the terrible run flats that are on the C5 thin spokes. They are balanced but not road force.
This has been all street miles and my own opinion, for whatever that is worth?

Let me throw this into the mix. After doing some searching online I've come up with the term "bump steer", which maybe the problem.
Can someone educate me a bit more on roll center adjusters? and is there something available out there for the C4?

I would think you could determine if what you feel is the result of "bump steer" or "roll center" by simply raising the height of the front back to something that more closely resembles "factory" height of the car. The spring weight is usually etched on the end of a coil so determining what's actually on the car will require removal. Perhaps your invoice if they were new mentions weight. I believe 375 is the spring most frequently mentioned but I've seen 400 mentioned for also. Is 350 soft? Don't know!

Roll center adjusters are generally "ball joint spacers" but it depends considerably on the suspension type on the car their used on.

There are also dimensions in the FSM that you could use to see how much you've actually changed the original geometry.

one thing I noticed with my car is at 120 or so with the shocks (stock z51) the car will float and oscillate it is kinda freaky, I believe it has more to do with compression and rebound settings then spring pressure. just my $.02

Yeah qws I took the front left shock off the other day cause its was bad.
Haven't noticed any difference when backing up.

johnnyjr2; your right on the money, but how old are your shocks?
If you don't know then replace them.

Actually i had a leak on my r/h rear coilover and put the original leaf spring in the back, while waiting for the koni coilovers to come back from being reconditioned.
I have been too lazy to refit the Koni coil overs and remove the spring, am waiting for nicer weather but the good news is there is no vibration or any noticeable difference other than a smoother ride with the softer rear spring..
