Default 84 4x3 trans dissamble

Hey guys, I'm new here, I did a intro with a little about me.
I'm working on a 84 Vette 4x3 transmission, Customer said it wont go into 3rd or 4th.
I have worked on several Vettes in the past, I build transmissions for a living for 35 years, just never worked on one of these.
I've got a couple questions, the overdrive section has no cable hooked up to it, customer said it was like that when he got the car, I've got the unit on my bench, and there's no oil in the overdrive part, could this effect the t-10 not going into 3rd or 4th ?
I'm thinking the brass is wore out.
I don't see how it could, but I'm not sure.
Second, I unbolted the overdrive section, and removed it, and the t-10 rear bearing cover, I pulled all the bolts outta it, removed the snapring and washer, and it seams the bearing is pressed on the shaft.
Would this be correct ?
And any good ideas how to get the rear bearing cover off, I don't want to heat the inner brg race, don't want to ruin the brg.
I tried prying up, both sides at the same time, on the cover, the brg is not moving up the shaft.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks..

As you can see with the 4-speed part, it's really a Borg Warner Super T-10. Does the 3-4 fork move easily? Any damage to the fork itself? Any binding in the shifter, maybe the 3-4 rod is not adjusted properly?

No ATF in the OD unit should not make a difference in the 3-4 shift, but if the guy drove the car for any length with no fluid, the OD could be toast.

Do you have online access to something like ALLDATA? The big Chilton's books (professional books) will have procedures for tear-down and assembly of the 4+3. The FSM for the '84 will have the step-by step procedures and IIRC, that's what you see in ALLDATA.

No OD fluid in the case means he's probably got a nice healthy paperweight hanging off the back of the 4 speed section now. No "wire", is that the kick down cable or the OD solenoid wiring? Rear bearing cover attached to the 4 speed box? It has those special hex bolts with heads half the height of normal fasteners for clearance purpose, I would assume, then you have two "12 point" style bolts sunken into the bearing cover. Not sure if they are 12 point style but that's what they remind me of...they may be a special style for a tool to slip into the hole. Once those two are out after the five or so hex fasteners, it should come off.

Hey guys, thanks very much for the help,
It appears to be missing the pressure cable for the od unit,
The forks and top look good,
I got all the bolts and snap ring out/off and it seams like the brg is pressed on the shaft.
Im just not sure how to get the brg to come up the shaft without hurting the cover.
Im goanna try to post a couple pictures.

There is a locating pin in the reverse housing, tap it into the case rotate the reverse adapter housing until the hole lines up with the countershaft , in front of the case now drive the counter shaft out through the reverse housing. The reverse idle gear will now drop and the adapter will come off. No force or heat is required.
