Basically if I sit in it, turn the key to on, and the digital dash comes on, I know it will start.
However, if the dash does not come on, the car will turn over like a SOB, but won't fire. I noticed there is no spark or juice to the fuel pump relay as well.
My immediate guess is ignition switch not powering the ecu or other components, (dash being one of them) however the problem is so darn intermittent, and does not change regardless of steering wheel tilt or ignition wiggling, that I'm slightly puzzled.
The ignition switch at the bottom of the column might be loose in it's mounting location. It has some adjustment for tolerances in the mechanics of the column and the rod that goes from the ignition cylinder down to the switch.
If the switch is loose it could be moving around such that it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
