at what temp does ac compressor turn on
I was wondering what temparature the auto climate control turns on ac compressor. The ac is not working in the car atm (might just need a recharge). i want to try avoiding turning on the compressor to avoid possible damage, so whats the best way to do that. thanks in advance. BTW its a 1989 if that makes a difference.

If the AC system is low on refrigerant the compressor will not turn on because of the low pressure switch. That switch has to see a minimum amount of pressure in the system before it will allow the compressor to run.
