auto problem

Having a prob with my auto trans i take off from a stop and the car dosent want to change into 2nd and when it does it bangs in but unless i keep the revs up it changes back down, then in the same journey it changes like normal, this has only come on 2day after a 25 mile trip then a stop then a 25 mile trip back,,,,, help some one out there please tell me it is as easy as servicing the trans :confused: :confused: :( :( :(

I dont know what year you have ,but it sounds like a shift solinoid or a input speed sensor.Change your filter & say your prayers.

84 no ecu been converted to carb, all this just happened did a big drive on the weekend 300miles round trip, it floats in and out of power as well :smash: :crazy:

The tranny gets its pressure from two different sources. One source for automatic shifts and another source for manual shifts. Does this problem occur when you manual shift.
