I have a 93 coupe and have the Brey Krause mounts to include the sub mount. I also have the stock seats. With this setup I can switch back and fourth from the stock seat belt or use the harness. Both remain installed. The BK mounts are mounted to the stock belt mounting locations. The sub belt mount will mount to the front seat frame bolts. I'm also using the BK fire extinguisher mount.
I have also tested this setup around Gingerman Raceway. So, I still had the comfort of the stock seats while being held in with the harness and it worked well.
For mine I removed the stock seat belt bolts and installed longer ones with both the five point belts and the stock seat belt since I drive it to the track. For the crotch belt I looped that around the metal seat adapter bracket.

WOW - excellent, that's exactly what I was looking for guys - thanks very much. I really was having a hard time envisioning drilling into a fiberglass pan and using the bolt and washer kit that came with the harnessed. Nice red interior pic too - just like mine, red on red. (I'd post some pics too but haven't quite figured that out - the insert pic option keeps asking for a URL . . ) Thanks again
Somewhere I have some bolts that were made to replace the stock seat belt bolts, which you can use to mount the racing harness and keep the OEM belt too.
I've changed to a racing seat with mounts on the rails so I don't need these anymore. Can't remember who made them or what they cost me...
Ok thanks, Ill pop out the existing bolts and take them to our local fastener distributor and see what he has. Looks like 1/4" longer should do the trick
Will the car be driven on the street? 5-point harnesses are not DOT approved and most all states will not accept them as substitutes for the factory seat belts.
If so, you will need bolts long enough to be able to retain the factory seat belts. I would look for bolts that are about 3/4" longer. Then once the belt brackets are slipped over the bolt, you can use steel tube to make a spacer. Note that the OEM bolts have a smooth section that allows the belt bracket to rotate. You want to make sure that still happens for both the OEM belts and the lap belt mounts.
When you get the bolts, make sure they are at least a metric grade 8.8 or even a 10.8.
Yes, it's a street legal car that I'm using for HPDE so my plan is to definitely keep both OEM and the 5 pt in the car. Thanks for the heads up on the length, spacer and hardness of the bolts.
