84 hose/elbow found loose not connected
I found a rubber/ plastic accordian sort of elbow fitting laying loose under the hood. It was laying between the edge of the air cleaner cover and the ac compressor. Looking around I noticed, theres a steel elbow at the top of the ac compressor that goes to a diaphragm I guess it is. On the back of the diaphragm facing the rear of the car is a metal nipple. Nothing is attached over that pipe/nipple/ Could this be where the short plastic pipe came off of?

Don't know where you're located, but if you need to pass a smog test, you'll probably fail with this hose not in the right place. It's easy to install. Remove the top cover of the air cleaner and you'll see the hole in the front of the air cleaner bottom housing.
