I finaly did it! YARCT
Yet amother radiator cleaning topic.
Well I did it, got the sucker out and cleaned it up good. Still working on the heater hoses and tune up so I don't know how much cooler it will be yet, but I'm betting 10 - 20*
 That's quite a pile of leaves you pulled outta there. Mine was almost that bad. I probably should have pulled the radiator, but I removed the upper shroud and used a shop vac to suck out most of the accumulated crap.

I can almost gaurantee you that this did not get all the crap out of there. It took pulling it out and cleaning between the fins and straightening the fins. Once you have the upper shroud off you are 2 cooling hoses and two transmission connections from being able to pull it out. I'm doing as part of a full clean up, coolant flush and fill, and tune-up. If it wasn't 101* yesterday I might be 90% done. Right now I'm probably 75% done.

OK, just finished buttoning it all back together. I didn't see the temp changes I was looking for, but it is significant.
160* stat
1 bottle water wetter
60% water 40% "green" coolant
Stop and go before 200 to 235*
Stop and go now 190 to 205*
(85* air temp)
Still need to take it out on the highway and drive it for a while. I was seeing 185 - 195* before, I'm expecting 160 - 175* but we will see.
If you plan on doing this my only hint that hasn't been brought up before is you only need to take off the 6 7mm bolts holding the upper shroud to the lower shroud. I did not remove the lower shroud and it was not that difficult.
James, you will need to change the chip to get the fans to come on quicker. You won't really see that much of a change from the thermostat unless you do.
