I have a 89 six speed that has bad o rings. i want to do a ZZ4 long block and use my TPI intake for now, Summit said it won't work and Pace said i need a new tune or it will detonate and ruin the motor! any advice would be welcomed.

Maybe others will step in with advice but from what I remember the only thing you have to do is purchase an intake manifold that will mate to the fast burn heads. You should probably install new fuel injectors and replace the O rings in your fuel rail. Probably a good idea to purchase a new thermostat and delete the EGR and AIR pump too. Also a good time to put some headers on.

I believe the ZZ4 engine is pretty close to the L98 engine...It should have the same aluminum heads on it that the L98 engine had after 86... It may be close enough that it will run ok, but I wouldn't take a chance without hooking it up to a scanner to see what your air/fuel was running.. To lean and you could screw up a new motor...WW

ZZ4 has 113 heads. Stock intake will limit power but it will work. Really needs a custom tune though. It will idle a little too low for that cam. I would not do it without datalogging, for sure.

This is an install that "Google" can be your best friend and then you can absorb all of what you read and ask some very intelligent questions. You want to compare the "specific" part number that you're wanting to use and not just RPO information.

With so many of these builds going into the F-bodies also there a good bit of information to be absorbed, get your questions together and address each of them. Deal with it as being "your build" and don't rely on a comment that says - yes it does or no it doesn't.

You might want to shop "local" if you're serious - it would be good to have a dealer on your side if there were issues.

a Google search for "ZZ4 GM engine for TPI" should get you some good reading.

FWIW
I ran a ZZ4 cam in my '89 engine with the stock ARAP tune and supporting intake mods
Without a datalog you would not know anything was amiss, idled fine and ran like scalded cat.
Only thing I found when logging was the very aggressive spark advance of the ARAP tune was giving knock going through 3K WOT
and slowing me down by pulling timing out.
