Default Cam and gear

Could someone send me links to order an upgraded cam and gear for a stock L98....88 Vette btw! Looked at Summit Racing but didn't see anything for L98.
Thx!

Basically, I'm doing a new cam on stock heads. I'm looking at either the Summit Racing 1102 or the 1103 cams. The 1102 state "smooth" idle and the 1103 state "fair" idle. The car will be a weekend sometimes daily driver and I want it to sound like it has a little something under the hood. What do you suggest? Also, what would be a good gear upgrade with either cam set-up Thanks

I suggest a "Roller cam"...one that is designed for use with the roller lifters that your engine should have in it. THe cams that you picked are "flat tappet" cams -no rollers.

As for gear, what gear do you have now? Auto or stick? Rest of the engine/car stock?

Yes, rest of the car is stock and is an auto. Which roller cam would you suggest that's slightly aggressive but still daily drivable? Thanks for the reply.

"Keep your GM car all GM"; seriously I'd consider GM no. 10185071, the cam Chevy's installed in millions of its ZZ3 Hot, ZZ4, and FB385 crate engines; Intake 275 deg adv; 208 deg @ .050"; Exh 280 deg adv, 221 deg @ .050"; Intake lift 0.474"; Exh lift 0.510"; lobe centerline 112 degrees.

I built an 86 with an earlier first generation ZZ1 crate engine cam which was quite bit more aggressive; it was perfect in my manual trans car, but car mags typically cautioned that it was a bit too much to put in a car with an automatic transmission. I suspect that the 10185071 cam would be just about perfect for your car and intended use.

With any non stock cam make sure the valve retainer doesn't interfere with (hit) the valve stem seal....shouldn't be a problem , but it should be checked out.

^That^ seems like a decent choice to me.

So what gear does it have now? There were options. I guess I'd suggest a gear in the 3.00:1-3.23:1 range. Your car may already have a 3.07, though.

Thanks...I'm going to see if I can find that GM cam!

Thanks Tom...not sure what my gearing is. If it is a 3.07...would that be ok for the GM cam described above? You guys rock...thanks for the help!
