I have now pulled out all the speakers on my 1990 Coupe.
Two speakers are bad... both on the right coincidentally..... (right rear has fried transister... right front looks fine). I took the left rear and plugged it into the right rear.... funny thing is that with the volume at about 2/3rds the volume is barely normal and all the way up the speaker is not blasting.
Someone suggested that this might be normal if all speakers are not plugged in... is this true? Is there something wrong with my radio? ie. preamp level is no good? Are all speakers going?
Someone suggested that a 1996 Vette speakers should fit exactly and to save expense can try getting them from a junkyard.
Perhaps someone can suggest replacement speakers/AMPs with specifics of brand/where to buy. I tried crutchfields website and they said they have no speakers for 1990 Vette.
Try http://www.discountave.net I purchased a Pioneer DEH P730 and 4 new speakers for about $450.00. Of course you can spend less or more. I quess my system to be somewhere in the middle. Sounds great even with the top down at cruise speed.
