Code 32 is your EGR circuit. Either your EGR and / or soleniod has gone bad. That said, there are several other possibilities though.

Code 32 is EGR Failure and can come from two cases.

1) If it shows after startup the EGR is stuck open; 2) if it shows after cruzin for a few minutes it's becaure the EGR is not seen as open. The first is obvious; the second takes some explanation.

There are three components to this system: the EGR valve under the rear of the plenum, the EGR solenoid under the front ofthe plenum and the EGR Temp sw in the top of the EGR tube that runs from the right exhaust pipe into the intake manifold.

In case (1) either the EGR valve is stuck open or the EGR Temp sw is shorted closed.

In case (2) there may be a vacuum leak, the EGR solenoid may be defective, the EGR valve may be stuck open, the EGR Temp sw may not be closing when the ECM has called for EGR open.

Now that you know how this system works you will see how to diagnose the problem and isolate the fault.

I had the same problem... Turned out to be the temp. switch.

I indicated where they are on an L98, we need someone with an LT1 to verify.

I know 1989 was the last year the L-98 used the egr temp switch. I will bet the LT1 does not have one either.

Correct..the LT-1 has the soleniod and EGR vale only, no temp switch. (at least on the 92). :yesnod:

LT1 EGR valve is at rear of intake manifold, EGR solenoid is at driver side rear of intake manifold. Just follow the vacuum line off the EGR valve to the solenoid...
