Default LT-1 Fuel Filter Replacement tips anyone?

My 94 Conv is due for a new fuel filter I"m sure. Any tips on replacement?
I have a 4 post lift in my garage so access to the X brace and filter should be no problem. Just looking for any surprises  anyone else has found doing theirs. thanks

I Have a 95 convertible here's what I did just last week. Removed most of the X brace just the side close to the filter left one bolt in on the other side just loosened it a little so I could swing it out of the way (this made bolting it back up easier). Next took off the line from the filter the side I could reach with two wrenches. As for the other side I put a small vise grip on the line side nut and then put a socket wrench on the side of the filter i had already taken the line off from. This made it very easy to take off the filter as it is difficult to get both hands up in the high side of the filter. Did the opposite to get it back in there. Have fun it isnt that bad not as bad as the plugs and wires anyway.

Get the gas level in the tank as low as possible. Dont loose the little o-rings on the lines. And there is a gas line support up at the heater box that if you disconncet it first, lets the line pull down for easier access to the top line nut. Good luck.

Yes, I ran mine out until the 'reserve' warning came on, then parked it overnight with front raised up on Rhino Ramps, plus removed gas cap when I started the job to releive any pressure build up. I would suggest dropping the $1.50 for new o-rings from dealer parts dept. to help insure no leaks after job is done though. Also relieve pressure in lines by pressing in on the fuel pressure test schrader valve which is usually on the fuel rail on passenger side at rear of engine. Be prepared for some fuel to come out of the schrader valve (place a rag wadded up underneath to contain it). I only had about 4 tablespoons full come out the schrader valve though.

Also, pull the fuel pump fuse from the block and then start the car and let it run until it dies of starvation. I think this works better than trying to drain with the schrader valve on the fuel rails.
