On your '86, it will be just below the radiator pressure cap. Look for a single green wire that attaches to the tank.

There is also a low coolant module that turns on the light. It's taped to the wiring harness near the fuse panel.

This will show you what it looks like:

If you want the light out, simply connect the green wire to a ground.
Light will go out.

I would just ground it, but check the levels every few weeks when you check your oil.

I think it would be pretty hard for some previous owner to do that. The tanks are plastic and somebody would have had to cut that out and block the hole. A replacement stock-style radiator would have that place to install the sensor just like it should have the places for the trans fluid lines. The plastic tanks can be replaced but I would expect that a replacement tank would have the correct mounting points for everything.

That wire and sensor should be in the same place for all of the earlier C4's that didn't use the later expansion tank.

Simply grounding the cable is a solution to the light being on, but as mentioned check the coolant level on a regular basis. And make sure the overflow tank always has coolant in it at the "COLD" mark!

The Low Coolant Level system started in '86. If radiator was replaced with one from an '84-'85, it wouldn't have the fitting.
