Default a/c fan problems

A couple of days ago my ac stopped blowing completely. Everything functioned properly, but no air comes out of the vents. Today I replaced the fan motor, but it's still not working. I checked the voltage on the fan motor plug and I get 1.3 v with climate control off and a little over 13v with the air on.....anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

Hmmmm and the motor wont turn at all? If the motor is good (sometimes you will get a defect from the manufaturer) , Make sure its grounded properly. I havent had my blower out yet ,but either it will be bolted to metal which grounds it --or it will have a ground wire attached to the body of the motor and a good ground somewhere. Make sure if it has a wire that its grounded to bare metal too. Painted surfaces (like the motor body) dont ground well.

Hi. I just realized I mis-read the voltmeter. The switch to the motor throws 1.3 v whether the a/c is on or not. I ran a straight 12v to the motor and it turns....so there's no power going to the switch. Either it's a relay or a fuse. Haynes says there's a 5amp fuse near the blower motor, but I can't find it. Anyone know where it it is?

Thanks
Jason

Update.....I replaced the relay with no change. So now I'm down to trying to find the 5 amp fuse for the blower motor which is located somewhere near the fan motor (according to the haynes manual) but I simply can't find it. Does anyone know where it is?

Thx
Jason

Sorry, dont know the 95's and locations of cetain fuses and etc,but while youre at it,check the main fuse box fuses and check to see if any have blown.Just a routine check we sometimes overlook.

Also, when you turn the key to ON,does the interior temp display flashes or will it tell you exactly how hot it is inside the car?The reason I ask,on my 86,with auto climate control,I had disconnected the in car sensor when removing the halo panels and the blower fan stopped coming on.
In car temp display was flashing when it was disconnected therfore overriding the blower fan command.Just throwing ideas your way.Hope you find whats wrong with it soon.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it started happening while driving. I'll look into it anyway though....you never know.

Thx,

On my 88 the 5 amp fuse is just above thw blower motor housing attached to the firewall/ ducting. Easy way to find it on your car would be to follow the wire from the blower motor until you find a part that looks like a relay container, but is much smaller. pull the wire out of this and you should see the 5amp fuse.

Good Luck!
