This is the second passenger side carpet console strip I am receiving from fullthrottlevette and I believe it is an incorrect cut.

Here is the driver side carpet console strip received from them in the initial delivery and installed on my car, this is perfect fit. Note the straight horizontal cut at the top of the carpet strip that hides behind the black console side edge, when console is in position (console is lifted here to show carpet strip in whole)


Here is the passenger side carpet console strip from performance choice product information picture showing the same straight horizontal cut on the passenger side (oval circle) than on the driver side:


Here is the passenger side carpet console strip received from them in the initial delivery and installed on my car.
There is a missing piece of carpet in the ‘A’ area.
In a tentative to hide the missing piece of carpet I am trying to raise the console strip higher than its nomal position but then it is too short in the bottom and I have a problem in the ‘B’ area.
Why is there a missing piece of carpet in the ‘A’ area on the passenger side? Why don’t they provide a straight horizontal cut like on the driver side? Why does the ‘B’ area does not fit like on the driver side?


Finally, here is the replacement passenger side carpet console strip that has been sent by them in a tentative to solve my problem. This is showing the same incorrect cut:



Has anyone installed a 86/87 carpet set from performance choice? How was that fitting?

 

Yep, that’s a bad cut on that section of carpet. Looks to me like a manufactures issue that fullthrottlevette has not noticed.

If it were me I would make a call to them and alert them to the problem, if they are a reputable company they will appreciate the heads up and will work with you to get you a correct cut piece of carpet to make you happy.

Performance Choice (the carpet set manufacturer), a division of Mid America Motorworks, eventually sent me a new passenger side console panel with the correct cut. Problem solved!

I can say that these guys stand behind their products, even if that means cutting 3 time the same panel and ship it overseas until customer is fully satisfied.
