My rearview mirror used to shake a lot, so I put some loc-tite on the screw, and tighted it up. No problem...until now. It's shaking again, and I cannot loosen/tighten the screw due to the loc-tite. AAAHHHHH!!!!! :mad
Loc-tite really should not have frozen the screw such that it won't come off. I would recommend trying again and maybe using a little more leverage. I have used loc-tite on many things and haven't run into any problems like frozen screws (although I will admit I have never used it on anything that had plastic around). Good luck!

Yeah but it all depends on which loctite color he used. When I used to work at the local hoby shop we had different loctites for different jobs. On helicopters we used the one b/c of their vibrations and for the cars we used the lesser one. Can't remember which color is stronger or weaker though, hmmm. Good luck b/c I've frozen plenty of screws with that stuff, doesn't come out.

The blue Loc-tite is for general jobs and does a great job. The red is for semi-permanent jobs and can be a PITA to undo. Your best bet "may" be to try an impact wrench with a screwdriver fitting. It is not so much the total force as the quick application of force that helps break the screw free. If you used red, you may still break the screw or threads. Be prepared to buy a heli-coil for the threads. Good luck.
