Default Question for (ski_dwn_it)

What editor do you use? I have had a hard time finding good information on MAF cars. I have done a lot of research on thridgen.org. and most of the good info is for the MAP cars. I have seen you posted on that board also. I has reading a post on this site and a guy said you did a great job on his car. What tables are you working in? I use tunner cat and diacom scan tool.

CL,

I used tunercat and craig Moates scanner software. Works great. I have an EMP 10 programmer.

There are many tables that you need to mess with. obviously spark, fuel and AE to name just a few.

Its a rubiks cube to get the right amount of each. I wish there was a simple format I could lay out for ya, but there isn't.

Just make small adjustments and see what they yield for ya. Then move on.

You have to keep detailed notes of changes or you will wind up chasing your tail. Its not too bad if your car is stock.

If you have detailed questions. Post them and I can help you get started.

Later

I use the pocket programmer 2 and tunner cat with diacom as a scan tool. I have burned dozens of chips for my 89 vette and GTA and some for friends camaro's. I have adjusted timing and power enrich vs %tps, cooling fans. VATs, ect. I have not changed any MAF data. What tables in tunner cat are you chaging to control fuel?
Thanks

You are one of the smarter ones. Do not mess with the MAF tables. You can, but it changes everything....ie LV8 values. It can be done but it turns a molehill into a mountain, then some.

The table you should be looking at is %change to A/F vs RPM. There is also one in there that pertains to vs coolant. The RPM one should do you just fine.

Listen. If you are universally rich or lean. Just adjust the Injector PWs. Make the injestors *look* larger to lean it out, and smaller to richen it up. This should get you very very close on BLMs.

Concentrate on 128 blms in all cells, except idle. I have a trick for them. Then take care of knock. Then address WOT. Idle is easy, but does require MAF table manipulation. Only the idle area though so LV8 doesn't really matter.

Take your time. Keep asking specific questions. It easier to focus on.
