Is there a way that you can really deep-clean or buff out the glass targa top? Mine isn't too easy to see out of and just needs to be cleaned real good.
Remember only to do the outside, not the interior side of the top. I had a local detailer do mine, and he did a great job on the outside, looked brand new. There was a little area on the inside that needed work and we didn't even think that it'd be a different coating. Ended up ruining the top.
Check this out guys. The outside looks pretty much perfect... but this is what it looks from the inside:
Do you guys think I should just cover the top glass somehow, or should I buff it out (those scratches/cracks look like they are inside the glass, but cant feel them on either side..) or what?
I'm debating just covering that glass up... but at the same time I really like having that open glass there. What do you guys think? Fix it and leave it, or cover it? Will it look stupid covered? Will I miss the sun gleaming in my eyes thru the clear top?

That's the decision I'm thinking about also. My car is white and I've been thinking of either painting or wrapping the halo in black. If I go that route I'll probably just wrap the top also so it's all black. So I'm not sure weather to wrap the top and halo or sand the top and polish it.
Its tough man. That targa is a luxury, and I'd hate to lose it... but at the same time, I can always just take it off I suppose. It would be nice to keep the glaring bright sun out of my eyes some times, but at the same time its elegant to cruise the back roads with the moon glimmering down on you (corny, I know)
Or you can the lazy way. This is one of those "As seen on TV" products, I got it at a Michael's store. My top has a lot of crazing and I was looking into getting a new one so I thought what can I lose? You will not believe the difference. I'm not getting a new top any time soon now. On the down side, if you scratched your top anywhere and could not see it, you will now. It is very clear now.
Unfortunately, that crazing is usually pretty deep, so you probably won't get rid of all of it by wet sanding and polishing. I like the dot-matrix top shade that is a thin mylar flim. This clings to the interior of the acrylic top, and cuts out the glare thru the roof. It really looks nice, and would hide that spider web crazing. I leave mine on all the time! They're about $25.
I also use a clay bar on my top to keep it clean and smooth. I checked with Mother's before doing this, and they okayed the idea.
Interesting. How does it work? Rub in, buff out? Did you use it just on the outside, or inside and outside?
I just did 1/2 so I could see a before and after and it is a pretty dramatic difference. Just wipe it on with a provided cloth and I used a separate cloth to buff the excess off so there isn't a sheen on the acrylic. I haven't tried it on the inside yet.
