Default Help Identifying part???

Ok, I am in the middle of doing a valve job on my car and I have repainted the intake manifold, the runners, etc...

Now I am looking at my engine bay and decide that I am going to have to clean the brackets that hold the pulleys and pumps since they are dirty. Well, I remove the bracket that holds the AC compressor and the belt tensioner(sp) and this part comes of with it. But the manual says nothing about it.

It is a tube and at the bottom is this round face with a hole in the middle and what looks like a filter inside.

What is it? What is it for?

Thanks for the help...

You're welcome, and I honestly don't know. Considering it connects to each exhaust manifold I would suspect it is possible for some decent exhaust noise to come through it.
