Have you had work done recently on the car? If so, they may have reinstalled the lugs with an air gun. In that case, your rotors maybe warpping due to improper torque. If not, then it could be worn pads, guide pins etc. Is it in the front or rear of the car?

It's unusual that all 4 would go out at once all of a sudden. Try this, run it up to a slow speed , say 15-20 mph. Apply your emergency brake WITHOUT usuing your foot brake. That will use only the rear brakes to stop you. See if the problem is heard / felt. If not, then it's in the frot end.
