Default Clutch Slave and Master - Refurbish or Replace??

This has been a strange weekend. My daily driver Pontiac went down with a bad CV shaft. Doing the work at my brothers house with his AWESOME car lift. Find out, the new axle I got was damaged and would not spline up on the transaxle. Not another one in town, I have to go back to the city where I work to get another. No big deal, I have a back up Corvette in hybernation I can get out for the trip. This is how I discovered the clutch pedal has no action at the throw out bearing and I believe the master and or slave are shot. Just the resistance of the return spring. So after all of that, here is my question. What works better for everyone? Replacement parts from the aftermarket, or rebuild the original components with new seals, o-rings, and whatever packings there are to replace?? I have enquired about this before, but want to do a little (lot) more research before I decide what to do for a repair. Does the ZFDOC rebuild these or have an exchange program? Someone provided a link to a shop that rebuilds them but I cannot remember who they were. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts and ideas...

Default Slave and master

Mine went out right after I got my 86 in August. Clutches and brakes are two things I have little trust for rebuilt units. My mechanic got both from NAPA, and once the air was fully out of the system have been working like a charm. Clutch master and slave were under $50 ea for new units, not worth risking a rebuilt for that IMO.

My 2 cents.

Yep, his name is Jim Dandik. Great guy to deal with. I bought replacements from advanced, they were nice but didn't feel quite right. Pedal had a strange feel even when bled correctly. I had my stock master and slave rebuilt by Jim and have been very happy. After I replaced my clutch and had him rebuild the cylinders the zf6 shifts better then it ever has.

Jim's website is powertorquesystems.com. His contact info and technical info are there. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him again. I purchased one of everything he has on his website when I did my auto to ZF swap. I went with what he recommended and so far so good.
