The connector (5 pin/wire) that connects to my fuel pump relay under the hood is in really bad shape. Is it possible to buy a new connector and contacts and where?
I guess I could fine a used one with wires on it and cut/solder it on....
Re: How do I replace my fuel pump relay CONNECTOR? (pzoom)
I've seen them in Mid America and Eckler's catalogues, but only select connectors for the early C4's. And as far as installation, you most likely will do some splicing, with a new connector or not. I have new burn off and power relays coming, and upon inspection of the fuel pump relay, I may change it also. My connectors seem okay, but it may be a different story once things are under way. So if something fails or I bust a connector, I figured I'd be doing some splicing. I haven't really noticed any harnesses between the relays and their routing to the ECM, but in my MAF sensor circuit diagram for vin 8 engines the fuel pump relay wires are:
red - from the ALCL connector, dark green/white - from fuel pump relay drive, black/white - from ECM ground. And from what I've noticed with my early model '85, one or some of the wires will not be the colors stated in the different diagrams for the different circuits. So I'm thinking new connectors would have to be spliced. The connectors could come with installation pointers. Good luck! :seeya
