Lots of threads in the Audio section on bad Bose systems....do a search there....seems like the Bose systems all go bad in some way or another. after awhile.
The Bose system has outpoard amps. (Unless I am getting my C4 & C5 stuff confused.) i.e. Amps outside the radio head unit. You need to use Bose only stuff for this system. Has anybody messed w/ it before.
haha, i was planning on changing out the system for a non-bose one in the near future. But i was just wonderin if there was a temporary solution. Also..im not sure if it was answered...but if you do replace the bose..how did u get the correct dash speaker grills.?
thanks again
Bose systems are totally incompatable with aftermarket systems. Check the audio section for more info. The grills are reused with aftermarket replacement speakers. They mount behind the stock grills. You will need to either replace the broke bose pieces, which will cost almost as much as an aftermarket system, or you will need to replace the entire system aftermarket. Since the bose sounds terrible, and has since the day it was made, I would do the second choice. Last, yes the amps are mounted at each speaker.
