Ok got the new water pump seal in and new distributor installed now waiting for the special Optispark ends from Taylor wire using 8 MM Taylor wires but the ends for the Optispark are different that meant buy a already made set or find the ends I found the ends but have to wait for mail ... so tune up is close to complete waiting on the special tool to check the length of push rods I bought one for 14.00 so might as well check the length as the roller rocker is shorter in length but has roller so rod length will be different and I would like to use new chrome molly rods anyway the springs should be good to .550 lift I was told so a .480-.495 lift is well within that I don't want to pull the heads to change the springs unless I was to port and install new valves...

So I guess your springs are not stock if they are good to .550 lift? That is good then.

You don't HAVE to pull the heads to change springs, you can put shop air through the spark plug hole with the piston at TDC on the firing stroke, and use a tool that give you leverage to break the retainer free from the keepers. You can change them out this way.

Yah I've used a on-head valvespring tool forever and if I was pulling my heads I'd wanna do the same or swap on another set I have, but with my high miles 89k I'd rather let it be.

OK got the new roller rockers installed and the new distributor I will get the plugs and wires in tomorrow and a new H/B Damper from Jegs as soon as I get it in so will post when I fire up the 93 Corvette most likely early next week I used the original push rods as they were in great shape and the difference in rockers was negligible I am using Taylor 8MM wires and NGK triple platinum plugs new serpentine belt new water pump so this should be a good tune up I removed the EGR/Anti Smogg stuff but am thinking of routing the air pump into the throttle body might act as a 2-4 psi boost ???

Did you use the necessary block off plates for the intake for the air/smog stuff? The air pump isn't really going to help make any more power, the guys at hot rod hooked up 5 leave blowers to an engine and even that didn't do much.

I am blocking off at the manifolds and the intake I am considering installing valves at the intake and manifolds so I can turn off the EGR but still have it installed if I would need to aims test in the future here in Safford there is no emissions test required right now

I noticed that the plugs for Cyl 8 had more carbon buildup and Cyl 7 just not as much as Cyl 8 I am removing the EGR stuff with block off plates and plugs for manifolds will this help ? why else would there be more carbon on plugs for rear two cyl?
