Default C5 rim issue on a 94

I have a stock, well does have the tuned suspension ( dial electro shocks ) anyway I bought the car with these 17 inch rims in the front and 18 inch rims in the rear . I have hated the damn things since I bought the car . Now with the realization that no one wants them and forget about trading for some OE saw blades , which is what I want .
The deal is I seem to be stuck with them , is there anyway to maybe do the stock tire size 285/40ZR17 in an 18 , so like 285/40ZR18 ??? I have a 275/35ZR18 rides rough as hell tires wear out in 4 months . I am at a loss here and wondered if anyone has faced a similar issue . Personally I fell it pitches the car a little too low in the front , could be the shocks as well which is on the to do list . Also the chrome is chipping off .
My thoughts were media blast the rims and powder coat them black , that will take care off the leakage issues with the chrome flaking off . But as far as set up and application I want to go 285/40ZR18 , so any feed back would be awesome.
They are up for trade for some OE saw blades , LOL

The wheels that nobody wants are usually the '97-'99 "wagon wheels".

They make a 285/40/18 tire and it will fit either the base C5 or the C5 Z06 rear wheels. ( I have a set on some C5 Z06 wheels) The problem is that it will be taller than your 275/35/18 tires and make the back higher (or the front lower) than it is now. Since you do not like the way it sits now, that is probably going the wrong way.

Although not many people like the wagon wheels, you can usually still sell them. I had a set that was perfect and no buyers at $150, but I put an old set of tires on them and sold the set for $400. You can find the '93 - '96 sawblades for sale pretty often too. Frequently for $200 to $400 for the set.

I tried C5 wheels on my '94 and didn't like them either. I didn't like the higher back end either. The ride was very stiff too because I had Goodyear runflats that were very stiff (245/45/17 & 275/40/18 stock sizes) I went back to the C4 wheels too.

Good luck.

18's on the rear raise the tail 1/2 of the larger rim diameter, your tail is 1/2 inch higher than stock @ the center of the wheel opening with the 18's but just slightly lower due to 35 aspect ratio tires instead of the standard 40 aspect ratio. A "40" aspect ratio on both the 17's & 18's equates to them "basically" the same size tire from the rim lip to the thread.
You can find the tires your looking for @ tirerack.com. Full specifications etc are also listed such as diameter, revolutions per mile ++++

C4 rear height is easily adjustable, change the rear spring hangar bolts to longer ones. Kits are available & are inexpensive.

If your C5 wheels are the popular ZO6 style they should sell quickly unless there have condition issues.

I like 18's on a C4 they fill the wheel well better & IMHO make the car look lowered even though it is actually 1/2 inch +/- higher.

I recently sold my 90 with 285/40/18 Generals mounted on polished C5 ZO6 18's on all 4 corners

The 275/35-18 choice you've made is part of your problem for sure. You can't expect "ride quality" from a 35 profile.

You don't mention wheel widths so it's very difficult to comment any further. You mention "chrome" so I'm guessing maybe these are after-market "C5 style" wheels and there's no telling what you might have going on. It's difficult to nearly impossible to contribute not knowing exactly what you have.

"Churckey" mentions an 18" solution for sure but it requires a X 4 for wheel specifications.

I've got a set of 94 staggered saw blades that I'm going to be parting with soon.... Shipping might be a pain (unless you happen to be in the DC area anytime in the next few months). The rims are in ok shape, some clear coat problems here and there but no major curb rash....
