Default Mini Ram Intake Porting help...needed

Hi,

i've got a c3 that has the dart pro1 aluminum heads..that have a mini ram code of 1205 (larger ports)...(1.28 x 2.09 approx)

Wanting to buy a miniram from a forum member..that is the 1204 (1.23 x 2.00 approx.)...slightly smaller...

Anyone on the forum that can open up this TPIS Mini Ram...port it open? If so...how much...and where are you...so i can calculate shipping...

Thank you for your time, keith

TPIS told me they would do mine for $100 when I need it done for my heads that I'm getting, so I would contact them and talk to Clay.

Cuisinartvette does port work. I think we have more than a few members on here who have sent pieces to him for porting. Look him up and shoot him a pm.

If you're near Houston, I'd do it. Just a simple port-match would be $100 to $150..without seeing the piece. You'll need to supply the gasket THAT YOU WILL USE to install ! and the intake...
For $250 I'd dig into the runners and enlarge as far as possible toward the plenum and clean up inside the box.

Takes 2-3 days.

I also measure and catalog ea port so you can see how much material was removed and where. That's sometimes helpful in future projects if you start getting into exact runner volumes and such.

Its interesting to see some ports get 6mm ground off one edge while the next one gets nothing to make it match the gasket and next port. THATS how far off many castings really are. There is power to be had just in the clean up of the castings.
6mm is almost 1/4" !

YOU could go buy a dremmel, with several metal cutting bits, some goggles and a variety of flap wheels & stones for the drill and spend a weekend doing it.Its really easy. Gasket is the template.

hardest part is knowing when to STOP. and NOT fall into the myth of smoothing everything and trying to make inside walls slick....

I would have Ron (Cuisinartvette) do it. His work is top notch and very reasonable.
