Does anyone know where the ground wire is located for the on off torque converter. I want to be able turn on and off the torque conv clutching system. I dont drive highway and am switching to carb setup. Any help is appreciated. I have done some research but cant find what im looking for. If u know of a link i can follow i would appreciate the help.
.......... I spliced in to the switch at the brake pedal ... its normally closed when your foot is OFF the pedal ... opens when its on the pedal ... that's so the TCC will disengage when you need to stop ... leave the switch in place but splice into either wire with a toggle or rocker type switch and now you decide when the converter locks or not ... this is a 12V supply , NOT a ground ........
Can u supply a picture of the switch. There are two attatched to the pedal. I know one is for the brake lights but not sure which one. Can i use a standard two prong on off 15 amp switch?
Pink/black comes from the guages fuse, and purple goes to the tcc - this is the +12 volt supply. There is also a tan/black wire from the ecm to the tcc that provides the ground to engage the tcc.(also goes to pin F of the aldl, you could provide ground there to engage the tcc.)
If all you want to do is disable the tcc when you want, do as C409 said and wire in a toggle switch to one of the two wires in the plug you are pointing to in your pic, doesn't matter which. That way you can break the +12 volt supply when desired and the tcc cannot engage. Are you leaving the ecm hooked up? If not it would be necessary to control it with the ground at pin F of the aldl, but it would be purely manual, unless you got a stand-alone unit to operate the tcc.

I plan to leave the ecm hooked for my current setup. eventually I am going to rewire the vehicle front to back as I have plans to remove all the wires under the hood and under the dash that I will not be using again and I will be switching the gauges over to analog eventually.
i have power on the pink and black wire but no activity on the purple wire weather the brake pedal is pressed or not. possible bad switch? can i just bypass this? i put in a switch as stated above but i dont see a difference in performance at all. but i think thats because it isnt working because of the brake pedal switch being in-op
I wouldnt think bypassing the switch would be a good idea you wont have a disconnect from the brake pedal being depressed if you do that.
How did you test for voltage on the Purple wire? There wont be any connection to the Purple wire from the Pink and Black wire if the connector is off so I assume you checked the Purple wire to ground by using a needle or pin to poke through the Purple insulation, or by pressing the needle up into the connector alongside the Purple wire?
You could take the connector with the Purple and Pink/Black wire off, and test the switch with an ohmeter (continuity checker etc).
I plugged it in and tested the wire with a test light and there is no power coming through the switch at anytime. I put a switch on my shifter so I have easy access to the switch quickly. honestly I just want to be able to turn it on and off. I dont rightly care about safety measures as I already am in the habit of switching it off when slowing down. I want to eventually make this car a stick but I have to deal with what I have till i bring up my money reserves again so I can afford it.

I would take the connector off clean both switch terminals and check it with an ohm meter. It could be dirty contacts on the pins, inside the switch or the connector. If you dont get continuity across the switch get some electrical contact cleaner and give it a good spray if you can find some place where it can get into the switch.
If you get continuity after cleaning the switch clean the connector too spray it plug it on and off a few times spray it again and plug it on and off at least once. Then check for voltage at the Purple wire.
