Default Window clicks when up

My passenger window is clicking when the window is fully up. Goes up and down just fine but clicks when fully up. I noticed that even after it is up if you click on the window again to raise it clicks again.

Any ideas on what to look for to correct?

Thanks for any advice.

I think the window motor has a torque sensing shut off like the headlights. If you have a stripped gear the motor will click because it is trying to turn off yet the gear is slipping. Hopefully this is correct or someone will have the right info. As far as fixing it, you will probly have to replace the motor assembly.

anyone with advice besides replacing the motor. I really don't want to rip apart the door to fix the window motor?

There's a difference in window lift mechanisms between early and later C4s, so year makes a difference in the answer.

So, for starters, how about a little feedback on how you resolved your passenger window problems when you solicited advice on the problem back in July and August of 2011? You were provided lots of information on how to check the switches and how to replace the regulator. Did you replace the regulator back then? If so, then you should know that there is no way to fix a mechanical problem inside the door without, you know, getting inside the door!

The only two options that come to mind that do not involve "ripping" in to the door are 1.) Don't use the window and 2.)replace the whole door.

Otherwise, bite the bullet and tear into the door, and when you are done, report back here with results so we can get a little closure.

If you saw a 4x4 inch square in the door skin in the right spot you should be able to pull it out from the outside.

For goodness sakes, man, pull off that door panel.
