Default Need help for my slow L98

I am stressed out, I need help! My Vette is fun to drive but I want some z-28 crushing power. I want to put 3.54 gears in it because It has 2.54 ratio right now.(the car is automatic)I would like to know if the 3.54 ratio can even be changed without having to replace the whole dana 36 rearend? Now for My engine, I want to put Scoggin Dickys Vortech heads and intake, Hot cam, 52mm throttle body, port the plenum, large tube runners, and headers. Do I need a chip to manage all this because of the speed density system? Will all this work and make a difference? My other option is different heads and the miniram II but that whole thing has me confused. Sorry I wrote a book! Please help!

Speed density cars do not respond to modifications without tuning as well as a maf car. You can get 3.54 gears for your Dana 36, but do not go to the strip launching on slicks or it may go boom. :)

I wouldnt put 3.54 in a D36, switch to a Dana 44 if you want reliability. One run in DR's on a 36 and BOOM.

Your mods will require a custom chip.

Iron Vortec heads vs. your stock L98 aluminum D port heads? Don't know about that. Even the fast burns, don't know about that either. Cleaned up L98 head is fairly good stuff.

Also LT-4 hot cam with long tube runner intake, don't know about that either.

Think there are lots of guys here that can help with the pieces parts, but I would not build that combo personally. Then again, I'm not the one to ask.

I don't think you need 3.54's either. If you are staying with TPI, the early 3.xx ratios seem to be just as effective, from posts on this board.
