driving home for work noticed smoke blowing out stopped noticed tranny fluid leaking right behind the oil pan in the bell housing overflow, is it rear main seal? if so is it cheaper to replcae tranny its an automatic with 112k
Haven't has the chance to get under and look but am going to check the pan bolts first, it was dripping like a leaky faucet when I looked last night not pouring
checked under car this morning, no more drips , pulled tranny dipsticke still has fluid, about 1/4 inch on the stick, so i am guessing maybe my gasket bolts may be loos, or my drain plug, will get under tonight and cross tighten and check, any other suggestions would be gratly appreciated
got under it cleaned it , no leaks, chjecked the pan bolts the front only under torgued not much fluid either, anyway put a quart in and lucas stop leak ( i know) ran it for a while, then drove around shifting was alittle funky but i guess it leaked alot of oil ( undercarriage was soaked) ,figured i use the bandaid and just get another tranny, if it is the front seal then that is 1/2 the price of another one so why not , here is all that drips as of today
