Default 93 Heater core removal

I saw an earlier post on an 86 removal. Is it the same on the 93? Also, do I need to disconnect an air bag switch or just the battery?

The interior is quite a bit different for the 1990 and later cars, so the earlier procedure does not apply. At least, not directly. Mainly it's "take lots of stuff out that's in the way and then you can replace the heater core". The hardest part is getting to the heater core housing and pulling the screws out that attach it to the firewall.

I don't know why people are so fanatical about disconnecting the battery. Any connectors you unplug have contacts that are protected by the plastic shell. It's almost impossible to short out anything. Most of the circuits are not powered when the ignition is off.

The battery is disconnected as a safety point. Its also disconnected so you don't drain it dead...heater core remove and replace is about 4-6 hours in duration....yes you'll have your pass door open the whole time.

I know it's pretty tight for a 1991. Wiring harness in the way. I remember that one.
