Default X-RAM Installation...

Should be finished friday! Also added a 85 fuel pump replacing the stock 84 one.
Weeeeee!
Can't wait for this thing! Too bad I can't afford to dyno it after installation costs :(

Any ideas to the performance gains? HP/Torque ranges?

Finally found someone to install it?

You should gain an honest 20-25hp. It will be noticible in the upper rpm, most important the hp wont fall off as quickly so you'll gain a few hundred usable rpm. The fuel pump will also richen up your top end a bit.

Remeber this thing isnt a magic bullet to make the crossfire fast, it will set you up with a good foundation for future mods.

Ive got my car tweaked pretty well, and with the recent deletion of my mufflers 2 days ago,
i'd put it up against any early stock tpi, and would expect to win. I went for a boot yesterday, and was quite suprised when the car went sideways a little on the 2nd gear shift, and pulled good to 4800.

Once i get my other mods done, i expect to be able to hold my own with an lt1 for the first 1/8 mile. Thats good enough for me.

nsimmons, how did you get a ram air in your car? I thought that was just for later model vettes and not for the 84?

IceDigger,

Good morning, I will have my "after" dyno charts in a few weeks. Sense my last dyno run I've installed the X-Ram, 1.6 roller rockers and a new exhaust.

ice, you just have to cut a hole in the fan shroud and seal it with some weather stripping, so it lines up with the ducting hole in the hood.

Sounds easy enough. Have you noticed much difference with the ram air on?
