Open the center console lid and look at the bottom of it. The top of the driveline tunnel is about 3" below that surface . There would be no way a bench seat would fit much less work. A seat back would be nearly impossible to mount effectively and would pretty much do away with any rearward view from the center mirror.
The car is defined as a "two-seat" vehicle. Adding a third "seat" would require at least a set of seat belts and there is no real provision for that.
this doesn't help, but, back in the day for those that owned c-2 coupes, they would put the back seat out of an old jeep in the back,under the glass...right sized for the kids.
