Default head light help

Today I turned on my head lights on my 84 and the right one when up and the left one stayed down. Now neither one will move. The head light to light up.
Any ideas?
They work perfect until today.
thanks again

Here's the drawing for the 84.. Check the 2 fusible links by the bulkhead connector. One way to check motors is to disconnect the motor and manually open the door, if you plug it back in the door should close. It would be odd for the relays for both sides to fail at the same time..

The bulkhead connector is where engine wires go through to the inside on the right of the brake booster if you're looking at it..

OK I feel kinda stupid but I do not see a big black knowb.

I got the drivers side to work. Not sure what I did.
The passenger side is up. I Have power on both sides of the fuesable links.
I switch the relays and neither will work. I was hoping that the drivers side relay which works. Would make the passenger side work. When I put the passenger side relay in the driver side it will not work.
I am going to replace the relay. but still a bit confused why the good drivers side relay wont make the passenger side work.
I have power on 2 prongs on the gray plug going into relay.

The '84-'87 headlight motors have the manual control ***** on the bottom of the motors. The later motors have them on the top. The '84-'87 motors are a completely different design than the '88-'96 motors. Only the early motors have the limit switches.

If the relay swap doesn't solve the problem, you probably need to clean the limit switches that are inside the motor. The motor must be disassembled to get to these switches.

If the right side doesn't close check for power both sides of the n/c contacts of the isolation relay.. You could start by unplugging the motor and checking for 12v on the connector (grey and dark green)..

The connections was very dirty. I cleaned them and replaced the one relay. Passengers side. When I put the relay in the light went down. I then turned on the lights and both went up. When I turned off the lights only the drivers side went down. I went to turn the passengers side **** on the motor and it went down. I just really just touched it.
I only tried them twice since then and they both work.
So I think I have them fixed. Kinda unsure though.

84-87 don't use the bushings. Here's a post by Cliff Harris detailing the procedure. With constant use the worm gear wears out the nylon gear.
