My car started running rough with a noticeable lack of power, mileage dropped to 12.5 MPG.
Decided to do a minor tuneup -- plugs and wires ... I found one wire burned and cracked and likely shorting to the manifold ... and the plugs all had that grim line on the porcelain. It's been a while so I changed them.
After the job was done I started it up and it did sound better but still a little rough. So I got some carb cleaner and gave the MAF a good cleaning. Started it up again and there was my nice motor back humming like a charm. Stoked that it only cost me a set of platinum plugs, wires and a little cleaner.
I was worried that the cats were clogged. Put that job off for when I put an exhaust system in.
