Default Tuning for a 383

Alright guys maybe you all can help me with this one. I bought my 87 vert about 8 or 9 months ago for a great price because the owner didn't know what was causing it to miss (turned out to be a blown bank 2 fuse). It has a '90 383 but I'm not sure of the specifics of what was put in it. The ecm was swapped for a '90 also. I know it's a stock cam but the crank was changed (obviously) and everything to make it a 383. Now on to my real question, I've got everything to tune it but when I tried a stock tune to start fresh, it wouldn't even start. It turned over but wouldn't start. I had an SYS flash on the dash but it went away. It has an EGR delete but that shouldn't keep it from starting. Is it possible for me to even tune without knowing the specifics of whats in the engine?
Thanks in advance.

Yes.

I would suggest a WB would be a good investment. As far as refusing to start as you are aware it needs gas and spark. You or a mechanic needs to troubleshoot that.

I'm thinking it might be the vats causing the no start. I put the original memcal in and it started as normal

How many plugs go into the ecm? 2, 3, or 4? What is the alpha code from memcal that started?

Okay, so you have a 1227727 ecm used in a 90 with an original ANHT auto trans memcal that runs. What is the issue?

I found that when I did some mods on my car that the stock tune was way to rich. I would try cranking it for a few seconds and then hold the gas pedal to the floor to get it fired it. It may run very lean or very rich, don't move out of idle at this point. If it starts knocking turn it off.

Get your data logger and start making adjustments to the BLMs.

Work on the tables pertaining to Cranking AFR Vs. Coolant Temp, this should be able to help you fire it up easy. If you got it to start the way I suggested then it is too rich, and you'd need to take away some fuel in the Cranking AFR table.

This should give you a baseline to get the car to run decent.

Daniel,
The speed density programming and tables are completely different.

The memcal should have a stock bin but when I flashed a stock bin it wouldn't run. Is there a way to pull the program off my memcal without an adapter?

Alright It's been awhile since I could do anything with the vette because of harsh weather. That snow and ice lasted forever! I'll try the one on the link and report back how it acts.

EDIT:So I clicked "save target as" and it says the file is no longer there.
