Hey guys, I have a 1985 Corvette with and inaccurate Coolant Temperature Sensor for the ECM.
What happens is, when I look at the dash gauge it says 200* F, but when I look on my scanner, it says 160*. I went on All Data and looked up a chart.
At 160* F, the sensor should read 450 ohms, and at 210* F, the sensor should read 185 ohms.
My sensor reads 239 ohms, when the scanner is displaying 159* F.
So I figure that the sensor is pretty accurate because when I turned the car back on the dash temp gauge read 188* F.
So, I want to test continuity from the wires at the CTS, to the wires at the ECM. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for it? I can't seem to find one on All Data.
Or maybe does anyone know what the terminal numbers are on the connectors at the ECM?
The ALDL connector has 5 wires. They are Power Ground, Diagnostics (Trouble Code), Air Switch Solenoid, Serial Data and Fuel Pump Relay. All sensor data is in the serial data circuit.
Problem solved! Tuner Pro was not reading correctly but WinALDL did read correctly. Going to try a different definition file for Tuner Pro later on today. Thanks everyone!
