Most just get a after market bracket & pulley set up, you can remove all the tubing and connections with out throwing any codes. There are few places to get them.

Here is what I have I was able to use the same belt

With the pump and others things removed the L98 cleans up well, you should also look into doing the water hose by-pass with your throttle body

Here is a link

Completely different setup on a C4.
You require the idler pulley shown above to prevent the belt rubbing on the PS pulley

No codes. I think I ended up with a 1" shorter belt as well. i have no AIR pump and associated piping(front of engine and exhaust manifolds), AIR switches or solenoids, no EGR piping or valve, and did the TB bypass including removal of the IAC water jacket and its amazing how much cleaner the engine bay is. Really easy to change spark plugs, remove valve covers, access sensors and more. Do it all you wont be sorry. No smog in FL!

I really like the look of those valve covers. Where do you put the oil in?

I have holes milled into the top sides oil fill is through PCV opening. Breather to TB is on top passenger side in rear you can see tube running along top of cover
