Default Looking for hood strut part numbers

Hi,

I have a 1991, and I have ordered a replacement for the single hood strut. When I placed the order, I also ordered two of the smaller struts that were used on the C4s from the late 80s. The mounting points are still present on the 91, but I was wondering what other parts are required. I have seen a picture, and it looks like there is a bolt that accepts a cotter pin, as well as what appears to be a metal spacer.

Does anyone know what parts numbers these pieces are, and do they have an illustration of the assembly? I will be in the US in March, and I wanted to preorder them from a GM dealer in the area I will be visiting.

Thanks,

Ken

Have you already received your struts? Post either a link or if you've received them snapshots. Let's see what you've actually already purchased. Where will you be in March?

I don't believe there should be issues with the retainers. I believe the originals were just retained by a washer and a spring type retainer BUT an e-clip of the correct ID and thickness would work equally as well as also would a push-nut. I don't recall the stud diameter but it should NOT be an issue. Here's what I believe an OE likely looked like:

I believe the stud is likely something very close to M5 so an M5 e-clip or snap-ring with an M5 washer should do well.

Hi,

Thanks for the link to the pictures. Here are the links to the struts I purchased. The first link is for the extra pair I ordered, and the second link is to replace the original single strut that is on the car:

I will be in Orlando in the second week of March. We are meeting family there for a week, and then driving down to Naples for two nights.

Ken

Not sure if I am allowed to post the ebay links. Please delete if this is not allowed
